What to expect: Considered a bold architectural statement when it was built in 1966, this cylindrical, high-rise hotel was originally an international-style apartment building. Although it's a stopover during the week for busy professionals, and for vacationing families on weekends, the hotel retains its urban residential feel, within sight of both City Hall and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Its circular design motif is reflected in the curving, glass-enclosed contemporary lobby, circular hallways, and round mirrors in suites.
